City Plastics can supply a variety of custom made Automotive accessories.

Rear window protectors
Manufactured from unbreakable UV stabilised Polycarbonate sheet, these fit to the rear window of your 4WD and stop stones from bouncing of your trailer, caravan or boat and breaking your rear window.
We have templates for most makes and models of 4WD's
Costs are about $150.00 including GST for most models, cheap insurance..........and no inconvenience.

Headlight covers
Custom made to suit the hard to buy for vehicle, contact us to see if we can make a headlight cover to suit your car or truck.
Please note that mass produced headlight covers available from most auto accessories shops are made with tooling and jigs that cost thousands of dollars. Cost for mass produced headlight covers, from auto accessory shops is usually around the $50.00 to $100.00 range. For custom made headlight covers we do not make production tooling. This means two things, one the price will be a lot greater, usually around the $200.00 to $300.00 mark, point two we can not always make a cover to suit your vehicle.

Bug deflectors
City Plastics can custom make bug deflectors to suit 4WD and trucks, in some cases we can also make replacements for your damaged bug deflector.

Motorbike windscreens
City Plastics can make replacement windscreens to suit a large range of motorbikes, bring in your old windscreen and we can usually make a replacement. Available in a large range of colours.

Weather shields
As for headlight covers, we may be able to custom make a weather shield to suit your vehicle, contact us to see if we can make a weather shield to suit your car or truck.

Car windows
We can make replacement windows and windscreens for most motor vehicles.
Some cars, trucks and buses have plastic windows fitted as standard equipment.
Many road, race and rally cars replace the standard glass windows with plastic windows. Typically plastic windows are quarter the weight of glass windows.

Bubble windows
Still living in the seventies? We have templates for many models of panel vans to make bubble windows.

Materials
The most commonly used materials for windows would be acrylic and polycarbonate.

Acrylic is UV stable and reasonably good in terms of scratch resistance. Acrylic is also easily and cheaply heat formed to shape.

Polycarbonate is available in a number of different grades.
Standard grade polycarbonate scratches easily and is not UV stable, it can be heat moulded to shape.
Mar resistant polycarbonate is very good in terms of scratch resistance and UV stable, however it can not be heat moulded to shape. It is also very expensive, about 6 to 10 times the price of acrylic.
UV polycarbonate, is UV stable, however it can not be heat moulded to shape. It is also expensive, about 2 to 4 times the price of acrylic.

Advice to us from Transport SA indicates that legally both acrylic and polycarbonate windows can be used for all motor vehicle windows in South Australia in road registered vehicles manufactured prior to January 1994. For vehicles manufactured after January 1994 an exemption for use of plastic glazing needs to be applied for.
